Controls and starting a run
Tap Build to complete one section, or hold Build to keep constructing. The same button automatically selects a route, lays track, bridges water, clears rocks and slows the train when construction is close to the engine. For a different route, tap a glowing tile before building; keyboard players can choose with A/W/D or the left/up/right arrows. Space works like holding Build. Menu or P pauses the game, C cycles Wide, Chase and Driver cameras, and F opens fullscreen. A safe three-step demo appears on your first visit and can be replayed from How to play in the menu. At marked junctions, your chosen route earns 40 extra points.
Scoring and strategy
Keep several sections ahead by holding Build. Supplies refill automatically and tools continue working after a tap until the section is finished. Releasing the button stops continuous construction after the current section. New tool tiers unlock after levels 5, 15, 25 and 35. Spend earned points under Levels & upgrades to build faster. Your total ranking is the sum of your best score per level, including partial runs; only improving those scores earns additional upgrade points. The server verifies each run and shows the shared top 10 after a win or loss. Use a nickname that you are comfortable making public. Progress is stored online and linked to this browser with a cookie; clearing it or changing browsers starts a new profile. The demo and practice mode do not save scores.
Your first three practice goals
These are optional practice exercises, not extra in-game missions or rewards. Try one at a time so you can tell what improved.
- Replay the menu’s How to play demo before starting a scored level. Watch the highlighted next section while tapping Build once, then hold it to see the difference between a single job and continuous construction.
- Use the Wide camera to inspect the route before the train reaches a difficult section. Build bridges and clear rocks early; a short stretch of finished track gives you time to decide where to go next.
- After a level, compare the result with your previous best before spending upgrade points. Improve an unfinished or low-scoring level rather than assuming repeated identical runs increase your total ranking.
A common mistake to avoid
Waiting until the engine reaches unfinished track removes your planning time. Automatic slowing helps while constructing, but it is not a substitute for a connected route. Finish the demo in practice mode before risking a scored run.
Play comfortably on your screen
Open the game with the Play link, then use Fullscreen in the toolbar for more space. On phones, pause before changing orientation. On computers, click inside the game before using keyboard controls. Touch and keyboard availability differs by game; use the controls described above.
For a blank game, missing progress or trouble leaving fullscreen, visit player help. A TV browser may need a connected keyboard or pointer; a remote alone is not a substitute for the game’s controls.
