Controls and starting a run
Tap or click a tile beside the empty square. Only a direct neighbour can move. The in-game Fungi guide provides a hint when progress stalls.
Scoring and strategy
Solve the top row first and avoid disturbing completed tiles. Work on the final two rows as a pair; moving one target tile without planning the empty space can trap the board in a loop.
Your first three practice goals
These are optional practice exercises, not extra in-game missions or rewards. Try one at a time so you can tell what improved.
- Find the empty square and name its legal neighbours. Move one tile and predict where the empty square will be before you tap.
- Work toward a correctly ordered top row. To bring a tile into place, move the empty square around it rather than repeatedly sliding the target back and forth.
- Once the top row is settled, plan several moves in the lower two rows together. Use the hint if you repeat the same board position.
A common mistake to avoid
Trying to fix the nearest misplaced tile on every move can undo earlier work. Track the empty square’s route and keep a solved area intact where possible.
Play comfortably on your screen
Open the game with the Play link, then use Fullscreen in the toolbar for more space. On phones, pause before changing orientation. On computers, click inside the game before using keyboard controls. Touch and keyboard availability differs by game; use the controls described above.
For a blank game, missing progress or trouble leaving fullscreen, visit player help. A TV browser may need a connected keyboard or pointer; a remote alone is not a substitute for the game’s controls.
